In a recent move, Sindh’s education department unveiled the academic calendar for the coming year on Monday, preserving the current winter and summer break schedule.
The education department’s spokesperson made the announcement after a subcommittee meeting that was presided over by Rana Hussain, the acting provincial education minister.
The new academic year for schools across the province is set to kick off on April 15, 2024, aligning with the previous academic calendar. Colleges, on the other hand, will commence their academic activities from August 1.
The decision comes after careful deliberation in the sub-committee meeting, which aimed to ensure a smooth start to the academic sessions.
Matriculation exams are scheduled to take place in the first week of May, while intermediate exams are slated for the last week of May.
The spokesperson affirmed that the results of matriculation exams will be declared by July 31, with the results for intermediate exams following closely in the second week of August.
This strategic timeline is intended to streamline the examination process and allow for timely academic planning.
During the summer vacations, a 15-day training session for teachers will be conducted, emphasizing the commitment to continuous professional development within the education sector.
This initiative aims to enhance teaching methodologies and ensure educators are well-equipped for the challenges of the evolving academic landscape.
