Ex-wife of former prime minister Imran Khan Reham Khan has refuted divorce rumours and advised those who spread such rumours to pay attention to their lives.
“The concern that Reham Khan is divorced and please don’t marry ever again and she is humiliated. Whether I get married 12 times or divorced 12 times is none of your business but also I must point out that if you had paid attention so much attention to your married life or your career or your son or your sister’s wedding then it would have been a different scene,” she said in a video statement on X on Saturday.
In the video, the British-Pakistani journalist was speaking with her husband Mirza Bilal with whom she tied the knot last year in December. It is her third marriage.
Reham started a more than six-minute video by saying that she was going to make an “important announcement” that would hurt some people.
According to the journalist, she received many phone calls from many people including journalists. The first half of the video shows she is speaking about the “concern” shown by those who made social media posts.
“A few years ago, I made a difficult decision that there was some kind of concern in my life,” Reham said as she introduced her husband to the video.
Bilal claimed that the links to all such fake accounts or pictures were linked to a “single party” and he wondered whether there was a plan to hide different news.
Bilal, 36, hails from Karachi and has relocated to the United States. He was a successful model and actor, with stints on the popular satire shows, the 4Man Show and the National Alien Broadcast.
He advised those who were concerned for them to mind their own business.
They were shocked to see so much interest behind the social media posts. Without naming the political party, she said that “such a party” has never given anything to the people.
“Alhamdulillah I made the right decisions. I stand by them and I am very happy,” she said.
The 49-year-old Reham has also been married twice before. She first married her cousin when she was 19 and has three children with him. She married Imran Khan in 2015 with the marriage ending the same year.
