Aslam Iqbal says still part of PTI as brother quits party

Former minister of Punjab for information and culture Mian Aslam Iqbal on Friday said that he was still part of the PTI despite his brother announcing to quit the party.

“I am a part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and will remain so. As far as my brother Mian Amjad Iqbal is concerned, three weeks ago he was kidnapped and his video statement and written statement were taken,” he wrote in a post on X.

It is pertinent to mention that the PTI leader’s brother Amjab Iqbal quit the party earlier today while announcing his plans to contest elections independently from PP-171.

Amjab Iqbal said that the PTI’s approach was against the betterment of the country. He went on to add that he did not believe in confrontational politics.

Reacting to his brother’s announcement, Aslam Iqbal said that everyone has the right to their own opinion and politics. “I wish him good luck in politics in a new way.”

He alleged that around 22 cases were filed against him despite him being out of Lahore since May 7 on his personal business.
