Former Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman on Friday called CJP Qazi Faez Isa’s remarks on former TLP chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi against law and Shariah.
“During court proceedings, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa gave remarks that “Hafiz” should not be written with Allama Hafiz Khadim Hussain Rizvi’s name. His [CJP Isa] remarks are legally not true and are not under Shariah,” he wrote in a post on X.
According to Rehman, Rizvi was a Hafiz-e-Quran and there was no law to write or bar people from writing Hafiz with the name of a Hafiz-e-Quran.
“It is a norm in our society due to which his [CJP Isa] objection is not right. It is not befitting of his position to unnecessarily intervene in Islamic matters. His [CJP Isa] position requires that he takes back his remarks,” he said.
