Decree already issued prohibiting attacks against Pakistan: Afghan envoy

The interim government of Afghanistan has already issued a decree that launching attacks in “Pakistan is not jihad”, Acting Consul General at the Afghan Consulate in Peshawar Hafiz Mohibullah Shakir said on Wednesday.

Speaking to Geo News, Shakir said that the Afghan defence ministry had also made it clear that attacking Pakistan did not fall under jihad (holy war).

Responding to a question over the outlawed TTP’s presence in his country, the Afghan envoy said that the members of the banned TTP migrated to Afghanistan during former president Ashraf Ghani’s tenure.

While discussing the expulsion of illegal Afghan refugees from Pakistan, Shakir said that the Taliban government had no objections to the decision regarding Afghan refugees. However, he called to adopt an appropriate method to send them back.

It would be better if the Afghan refugees were provided time to conclude their affairs in Pakistan, he said, adding that their government has also made arrangements for the expelled Afghans in their country.
