No idea where I was kept on ‘chilla’: Rasheed

Days after he mysteriously appeared in a TV interview after being away from the scenes, veteran politican Sheikh Rasheed appealed for help in his ‘mission’ to free those imprisoned for involvement in May 9 protests.

In a post on X on Sunday, two days after his interview aired, Rasheed said that he had no idea where he had spent his chilla, as he had referred to his absence in the interview.

However, he clarified that he had not been harmed at all in the 40 days that he spent in self-confinement. He also thanked those who had prayed for his safe return.

Rasheed said that his ‘life’s mission’ was now to save those who were in hiding, had committed the ‘mistake’ of participating in May 9 protests or were in jail despite being innocent.

He also called upon his follwoing on the social network to help him get ‘general amnesty’ for all those in jail or hiding.

Rasheed also expressed hopes that he could succeed in the mission with the nation’s prayers.

In the interview, Rasheed had called former Prime Minister Imran Khan a ‘stubborn’ politician and described hindrances to General Asim Munir’s appointment as army chief to be his main blunder.
