Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is facing considerable delays in both international and domestic flight operations as 20 flights have been cancelled in 24 hours.
More than two thousand passengers coming from abroad are facing difficulties and more than a thousand passengers are affected by the delay of domestic flights.
Those going to perform Umrah were stuck at the airport for several hours in Ihram.
According to sources, the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) is unable to ensure timely delivery of fuel to the national flag carrier, as PIA could not make payments.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has also not paid Rs550 million to PIA as the ministry had to make payments for Hajj Operation 2023 tickets.

Furthermore, the flight originating from Islamabad to Dubai faced several hours of delay due to fuel supply complications.
The flight operations also affected other airports nationwide, including Quetta, Peshawar, Multan, and Sialkot, where the passengers of the national flag carrier encountered several hours of delays.
Actress Sabeena Farooq posted on Instagram account that her flight had been delayed for 16 hours, and she had faced inappropriate behavior from PIA officials when she tried to talk about the issue.
She added that government departments have made their staff too ‘proud and rude’ by not hiring young people.
In response, actress Ayesha Omar linked Sabeen’s story on her own Instagram account, saying that it was a ‘misfortune’ that she had gotten a PIA ticket.
She added that she was stuck at Lahore airport and her flight was still getting delayed.
