Karachi was hit by an earthquake late on Monday, later classified by authorities as minor in magnitude.
The earthquake registered a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was determined at Quaidabad, with a depth of 15 kilometres.
Residents of Malir District, Quaidabad, Shah Latif Town, Sherpao Colony, Landhi, Muzaffarabad Colony, Muslimabad Colony and Steel Town all reported feeling the earthquake.
Media reports said people evacuated their homes in multiple parts of the city in fear. However, no loss of lives or property was reported.
