Workers to give grand reception to Nawaz Sharif on Oct 21, says Maryam Nawaz

PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz has said that Pakistan would not have been in turmoil if conspiracies had been concocted against Nawaz Sharif.

“He [Sharif] worked towards the betterment of the country. He ended terrorism in the country and long hours of load shedding. What he got in return was years of exile,” she said while addressing a party gathering in Thokar Niaz Baig of Lahore on Sunday.

Maryam went on to add that the crowd at the gathering showed that the public would give Nawaz Sharif a grand reception on October 21. PML-N has begun preparations to welcome its chief who is set to arrive in the country in late October.

Maryam said that the former prime minister would bring hope and prosperity to the nation with him, adding: “The inflation in Nawaz Sharif’s tenure was 2%, sugar was Rs50 per kilogramme and wheat flour at Rs35/kg.”

She went on to add that Sharif had endured more bad days and lesser days in power for the sake of the masses.

“Nawaz Sharif is responsible for making Pakistan an atomic power and bringing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to Pakistan,” she said.

Maryam said that the country was ruled by “jokers” for four years who would abuse people instead of working for the development of the country.
