President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab, Rana Sanaullah has said that the party leader Nawaz Sharif will appear in the court on September 22, the very next day of his arrival and after the rally on Minar-e-Pakistan.
In a statement issued on Thursday, he said that Nawaz Sharif will reach Lahore on October 21, first he will address a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan and start the election campaign of PML-N and then he will appear in court the next day.
Rana Sanaullah observed that Nawaz Sharif will announce the final strategy of PML-N on October 21 at Minar-e-Pakistan.
Nawaz Sharif was in jail in 2019 when he was allowed by the court to leave the country to seek medical treatment abroad.
Last week, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, in response to a question about any legal action on the return of Nawaz Sharif, said that a legal opinion will be taken regarding the return of Nawaz Sharif, many legal aspects related to his return have to be looked at and whatever, we will do will be in according to the law of Pakistan.
On the other hand, PML-N leader Khurram Dastgir said that Nawaz Sharif had left the country in accordance with the desire of two courts and now he will return with the will of the court.
Earlier, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that Nawaz Sharif will be arrested if he does not get bail from the court. I think Nawaz Sharif himself would like to be arrested, no major force was needed to arrest an accused from a plane, he added.
Rana Sanaullah reacting to the interior minister’s statement had termed it going beyond the limits. He said Bugti needed to observe the fate of former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed before issuing such statements.
Later, Sarfaraz Bugti clarified that his statement was politicized, the caretaker government has no political agenda and it was good that Nawaz Sharif was joining back the country’s politics.
