Rain and thunderstorms lashed several parts of Punjab, brining respite from heat on Saturday. The Pakistan meteorological department has forecasted more rain and snowfall in some regions of the country.
Punjab’s Mandi Bahaudin, Chiniot, Farooqabad, Sharqpur, Chak Jhumra, and Lalian received downpours.
The met office forecasted more rain and thunderstorms in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Lahore, Qasoor, Shaikhupura, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahaudin Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Khushab, Jhang, Layyah and other upper part of country, while some areas will receive snowfall.
However, the National Weather Forecasting Centre said that the weather in Karachi will be dry and cloudy in the coastal areas and mercury is expected to jump to 35 or 37 Celsius.
Moreover, rain and thundershowers were also anticipated in Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Karak, Waziristan, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Bahawalnagar on September 23 and 24 with occasional gaps.
The Met advised farmers to manage their crop activities accordingly. Tourists and travellers have been advised to remain cautious and to avoid any untoward situation during the period.
