South Africa women beat Pakistan women by 127 runs in the first one-day international (ODI) match of the three-match series played at the National Stadium Karachi on Friday.
Centuries from Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp laid down the platform for a 127-run win, giving South Africa a much-needed 1-0 lead in the ODI series against Pakistan.
The victory would give a boost to Laura Wolvaardt’s side who were whitewashed 3-0 in the T20 series
Luus and Kapp’s 183-run stand for the fourth wicket helped South Africa put 292 on the board before Nadine de Klerk and Nonkululeko Mlaba helped outclass Pakistan. They bowled out for 165 in 36.5 overs.
Luus was dropped by Pakistan captain Nida Dar at short cover when she was batting on 23.
Luus was the first to get to her half-century and Kapp soon followed suit.
Pakistan in response did not get the start they wanted as the opening pair were out in the first 10 overs of the game.
Nadine de Klerk and Nonkululeko Mlaba grabbed three wickets each while Ayabonga Khaka and Delmari Tucker bagged one wicket each.
