Businessman Aqeel Karim Dhedhi has denied hearing Army Chief General Asim Munir’s remarks about no political parties being sincere with Pakistan.
Speaking on Geo News, Dhedhi said he was also present in the meeting where the army chief is said to have made the remarks but said he does not recall hearing anything of the sort.
However, he added that the army chief had said that there were good and bad people in every political party.
Dhedhi also said that the General Munir had said that Pakistan was facing alot of difficulties and whatver has been done to Pakistan cannot be tolerated any further.
He also claimed that when the businessmen complained to the army chief about the deteriorating exchange rate, the army chief told work was being done to fix the issue.
He added that General Munir had praised caretaker Chief Minister Justice (r) Maqbool Baqar and said that steps would be taken to curb smuggling and improve the law and order situation in the country.
Dhedhi also denied the reports that the army chief had promised to bring $100 billion in investment, and said that General Munir had said that he had had talks with the governments in the gulf countries to attract investment.
He also said that th army chief said that China would not let Pakistan default.
Dhehdi’s statement comes after another businessman, Zubair Motiwala, claimed that the army chief had said that no political parties were sincere with Pakistan. He also said that many politicains used to drive motorcycles but now owend properties abroad.
