An Anti-terrorism Court in Islamabad on Saturday granted bail to Imaan Mazari in a terror case, while another court barred authorities from arresting her again.
Earlier, the Islamabad High Court barred the law enforcement agencies from arresting Imaan Mazari in any of the cases against her.
Justice Gul Hassan Aurangzeb of IHC issued an order in which he told the home secretary, IG, DG FIA and others that Imaan should not be arrested.
The court remarked that the home secretary, police, and FIA will not assist in detaining Imaan and they will also ensure that Imaan will not be moved out of Islamabad.
Yesterday, Mazari’s lawyer also filed a petition for post-arrest bail which was set for a hearing today.
During the hearing, the judge of the ATC Abul Hasnat granted bail to Mazari against the surety bonds of Rs20,000.
Imaan, daughter of former human rights minister Shireen Mazari, was arrested on August 20 after the activist posted on social media platform X that unidentified people were breaking into her home. PTM MNA Ali Wazir was also arrested.
The development came after her speech at a political rally in Islamabad.
