Caretaker govt to present economic recovery plan

Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi has said that the caretaker government wants to leave the country in a better condition than which it was handed to it.

Speaking informally to reporters in Islamabad on Thursday, Solangi said that the govenment was maximum efforts into improvement of the economy.

He also added that the interim finance minsiter will provide a roadmap for economic recovery soon.

Solangi also reiterated that the Election Commission of Pakistan will announce tha date for elections and the caretaker government will stand behind it.

He said that the government does not want to take away any of the commission’s powers.

Solangi also said that the Commission had adopted a point of view by saying elections will be held after delimitations and the government would stand behind it.

He added that the elections would take place whenever the commission said.

Solangi said that the commission was bound to draw fresh delimitations under Article 51 and has already issued a schedule.

He said that the constitution ruled that the country should be ruled by elected representatives and if the ECP wanted the government’s help to organise elections, that assistance will be provided.
