PTI chief Imran Khan’s bail plea rejected in three cases

An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad rejected on Tuesday bail petitions of PTI chief Imran Khan, who is incarcerated for offences related to selling state gifts, in three cases after he could not appear in court.

Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad Judge Abul Hassan announced the reserved decision in three cases and rejected his bail petitions after Khan failed to show up before the court.

Earlier, an ATC in Lahore rejected the PTI chief’s bail applications in seven cases pertaining to the events of May events citing the above-mentioned reason.

Violent protests erupted after Khan was arrested on May 9 in a graft case. State buildings and military installations were attacked in the country. The government has blamed the PTI chief for such attacks.

PTI Chairman Khan was arrested from his Lahore residence on August 5 after he was slapped with a five-year disqualification and a three-year prison term in the Toshakhana criminal case.

A district and sessions court in Islamabad sessions court handed down the jail sentence after finding Khan guilty of ‘corrupt practices.’
