**Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has booked a flight for September 4 and 6 to make a return to the country, however, he will not come back before the current chief justice of the Supreme Court retires, said anchorperson Javed Chaudhry. **
“Nawaz Sharif is waiting for September 16. He thinks he will not get justice while Umar Ata Bandial is the Chief Justice of Pakistan. However, I think he will not return even after September 16, as he sees no favourable conditions. He wants the judiciary and the establishment to apologise to him,” he told Shaukat Piracha on Rubaroo.
Chaudhry found it fascinating that despite Sharif’s brother being in power, he cannot return to the country.
He was in agreement with the view that the PTI chairman did not know about the selling of Toshakhana gifts.
“Imran Khan actually did not know about it. If you want him to give a statement under oath, he will do it. It was his wife who sold the gifts through Zulfi Bukhari. We all have also heard the audio calls in this regard,” he stated.
Responding to a question regarding the proceedings on the Toshakhana case and delays in a decision, he said that the justice system in Pakistan is complicated as one or another party in cases approaches the high court or apex court in mid-trial which slows the pace of hearings.
“If the PTI chairman is innocent, then I think this case should not have been initiated against him. However, if he is guilty then what the judiciary is doing is questionable. It means there is no justice in Pakistan,” he said.
Chaudhry said that the May 9 riots were calculated with plans to extend the reach of the mob across the country to take over power.
“It was planned that the mob will attack and burn military installations along the way till it reached Islamabad and Rawalpindi and then a revolution will be launched and they will take over,” he added.
He claimed that the perpetrators wanted to get the supposed revolution approved by the judiciary.
