Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would undertake an official visit to the United Arab Emirates on July 30 (tomorrow), the foreign office said on Saturday.
“During the visit, the foreign minister will hold a meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister of the UAE,” said the FO in a statement.
They would discuss the entire spectrum of bilateral relations between the two countries. The foreign minister will offer condolences to the UAE leadership on the demise of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed, brother of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
In Dubai, FM Bilawal will participate in the unveiling ceremony of a wax figure of the first Pakistani personality, Benazir Bhutto, at Madame Tussauds. Benazir, who served as Pakistan’s prime minister twice, was the first woman elected to head a democratic government in a Muslim-majority country.
The foreign minister’s visit reflects Pakistan’s “robust engagement” with the UAE and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two brotherly countries. “Both countries are committed to steadily strengthening fraternal ties and deepening mutually rewarding economic partnership.”
The visit comes a day after the one-day visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the UAE where he offered condolences to the UAE president on the demise of his brother.
“Deeply saddened on the sad demise of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. My heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the loss of his beloved brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with HH and his family in this hour of grief,” said Bilawal.
