Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan are expected to receive more rainfall over the next few days as the country reels from the effects of recent monsoon spell.
Authorities say that the current spell of rain is expected to continue till July 30. heavy and continuous rains mean that the risk of floods and land sliding will also persist.
National Disaster Mangement Authority said that a total of 150 people have lost theiir lives due to floods, rains and landsliding since June 25.
A total of 233 people have been injured in the incidents while 468 houses have been damaged.
Rains coupled with water discharge from India mean that multiple rivers are in a state of flood bringing damage to communities near the banks.
In Arifwala, many low lying areas were run over by water and Basti Mengal in Dhola was completely cut off by land.
Water levels started rising near Head Panjnad, leading to low lying areas being flooded.
Multiple villages in Chinio at the banks of river Chenab were inundated leading to a visit from the caretaker chief minister.
Citizens in Okara have complained that they have been left to fend for themselves, days after water entered settlements.
In Sindh, water levels rose near Guddu Barrage, leading to hundreds of villages being inundated in the Kaccha region.
Heavy rains left multiple feet of water standing on Mansahra road, Abottabad’s main artery.
Water entered shops and houses, making lives difficcult for citizens. Rescue 1122 said that Ayub Medical Complex, Bilal Town, Hassan Town, Jhangi and PMA road were particularly affected.
Water even entered the neurosurgery ward in the medical complex and patients had to be shifted to other wards.
