Obscene video played during Lahore seminar

Participants, especially women, had an awkward moment when an obscene video was mistakenly played during a seminar in Lahore.

The seminar was organised by the Global New Initiatives of Dengue and Situation in Pakistan at the Institute of Public Health where provincial minister Javed Akram was also present on Friday. A large number of women participants were also at the event.

Some participants said that the video was played a few minutes after Akram left. Speakers joined the seminar via Zoom link. They added that the obscene video kept on playing for two minutes as the administration failed to remove it.

In May, police arrested a teenager during a raid at the Veterinary Hospital area of Minchinabad in Bahawalnagar for allegedly uploading an obscene video clip on social media.

A USB containing obscene content was allegedly recovered from his possession. It featured the suspect and an underage girl.

The youth was charged with sections 292 (sale, etc., of obscene books, etc.) and 293 (sale, etc., of obscene objects to young person) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

In February, Comsats University Islamabad terminated the services of a faculty member who had asked a controversial question in the English composition exam.

Many social media, just like students of the Bachelor of Electric Engineering of CUI, were “shocked” to read a question in their recent English exam and were asked to write a 300 words essay on the topic.
