10th Muharram likely to fall on July 28: Met Office

Pakistan Meteorological Office has said that there is a chance of Muharram moon being sighted on July 18.

If the moon is sighted, this would lead to Youm-e-Ashura 1445 AH falling on July 28.

A Met Office ciruclar dated June 26 said that the moon would be boron on July 17.

The sun will set at 7:24 pm on the day, while the moon set will occur around 8 pm.

The Met Office added that there is a ‘slight chance’ that the moon could be sighted. However, it also said that the weather is expected to be cloudy or partly couldy in most parts of the country around the time.

A moon must be atleast 19 hours old for it to be visible. The Muharram moon is expected to be visible for around 46 minutes only.
