The per tola price of 24 karat gold increased by Rs600, market dealers said. It was sold at Rs208,400 on Friday against its sale at Rs207,800 the previous day.
The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs515 to Rs178,670 from Rs178,155 whereas the price of 10 grams 22 karat gold rose to Rs163,780 from Rs163,309, according to All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association.
The price of per tola and ten-gram silver remained constant at Rs2,480 and Rs2,126.20 respectively.
Gold prices edged up on Friday but were on track for a fourth consecutive weekly loss as strong US jobs data strengthened bets for higher-for-longer interest rates by the Federal Reserve, Reuters reported.
Spot gold was up 0.3% to $1,915.79 per ounce by 0902 GMT, with analysts attributing the small uptick to bargain hunting. US gold futures rose 0.3% to $1,921.80.
