The district administration of Diamer has lifted the travel ban on the Babusar-Naran Highway. It was shut down due to snowfall and land sliding threats.
“The people can travel on Babusar-Naran highway from 9am to 5pm,” said the district administration statement.
The highway remains closed for traffic from October to June every year due to heavy snowfall. The National Highway Authority has shipped heavy machinery from Chilas to Babusar and cleared the ice on the highway from Top to Kaghan, Radio Pakistan reported.
Travelling through the Babusar pass lets tourists glimpse the mountains of Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Balitastan simultaneously.
