The sudden disappearance of senior journalist Sami Abraham has sparked widespread concern, with speculations running rampant on social media.
In response, the Islamabad Police took to Twitter to assure the public that every effort will be made to locate and ensure the safe return of the journalist.
Ali Raza, the brother of Sami Ibrahim, wasted no time and filed a formal complaint of abduction at Aabpara Police Station.
According to the complaint, Ibrahim was allegedly intercepted by four vehicles on the service road of Sixth Avenue in Sector G-6 around 9 PM. The incident occurred shortly after he left the BOL TV offices, en route to his home. Approximately eight to ten unidentified men emerged from the vehicles and forcibly took him with them.
The police have pledged their full cooperation to the family of Sami Ibrahim during this distressing time. However, they emphasized that it would be premature to draw any conclusions or speculate on the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
Meanwhile, BOL News claimed that Sami Ibrahim has been arrested, but the channel was unable to confirm the charges against him. However, a previous decision by the Islamabad High Court stated that the court’s permission must be obtained before arresting Sami Ibrahim.
