Imran seeks restoration of bailable warrants in judge threat case

The lawyers of PTI chairman Imran Khan have requested a district and sessions court in Islamabad to restore his bailable warrants in the case of threatening a female judge.

The case against Imran Khan for threatening Zeba Chaudhry was heard by Judicial Magistrate Malik Aman.

The former premier’s lawyers argued that the life of his client was in danger as he had already escaped an assassination attempt.

The judge remarked that the prosecution has not yet appeared before him and adjourned the hearing till 11 am today (Wednesday).

The Islamabad High Court has already restored his bailable warrant in other cases.

The court had asked Imran Khan to appear in the case till March 20.

The case against Imran Khan was registered on August 20 with Margalla police station in Islamabad over his remarks at a rally in F9 Park where he warned Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry and police high-ups of dire consequences for what he called their “biased” attitude towards his party.

He alleged that the session Judge knew that PTI leader Shahbaz Gill was tortured, but she did not release him on bail.
