Quetta Gladiators have suffered a major blow as their captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is doubtful for their upcoming clash against Peshawar Zalmi.
Gladiators, who are on the verge of getting eliminated from the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), are at the bottom of the table. They will face Peshawar in a must-win-clash on Wednesday.
The Gladiators captain suffered a blow to his finger in his side’s only second victory of the tournament which came against Karachi Kings.
The scans on his finger show no facture, but he is experiencing severe pain and swelling, said the team manager. The wicketkeeper-batter went off the field but returned to bat after taking painkillers.
“Doctors will continue to monitor his condition and a decision on his participation in the next match will be taken after assessment in the morning,” he concluded.
Sarfaraz was hit on his ring finger while keeping wickets off Naseem Shah.
