PTI Chariman Imran Khan called PM Shehbaz Sharif ‘shameless’ for allowing terrorism to spread under his watch on Friday.
In a Tweet posted early in the day, Imran said he does not recognize the ‘imported’ government because it was built through conspiracy and horse trading.
He added a list of PTI leaders and journalists who have had cases filed against them since the PDM government took over last April, calling the government ‘fascist’.
The statement comes a day after PM Shehbaz sent out invites for a multi-party conference to build a political consensus faced by Pakistan. An invite was also extended to former PM Khan.
It also comes a day after one of Khan’s key allies, Sheikh Rasheed, was arrested from his house in Islamabad. Rasheed has been booked in a case of putting Asif Zardari’ life at risk by making accusations that he was part of a plot to murder Imran Khan.
PTI has reportedly decided that Imran Khan will not contest all seats himself in the upcoming bye-elections himself.
The slots will instead be given to the respective MNAs who were de-seated when the resignations were accepted in January.
The ECP has announced that elections on 33 vacant seats of the National Assembly will be held on March 16. Imran Khan had won the bye election on seven seats in October last year.
