In a quiet change that will potentially have a huge impact on the party’s structure and functioning, Maryam Nawaz has been made PML-N’s ‘Chief Organizer’.
In a party notification issued on Tuesday under party president Shehbaz Sharif’s signature, Maryam Nawaz, daughter of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif , has been made senior vice president. She was previously one of multiple vice presidents in-charge of the party under Shehbaz.
But the bigger shake-up involves Maryam being made chief organizer, with the authority to ‘re-organize the party at all functional tiers/level.’
Maryam, who was briefly jailed in the PTI government’s tenure in an assets beyond means case, is currently in London with Nawaz Sharif. The PML-N ‘Quaid’ has been in exile for almost four years, though the speculations about his possible returns have been going on for several months.
