Quetta’s century-old railway station gets facelift

QUETTA: The 135-year-old railway station in Quetta is undergoing restoration with the administration looking to bring back the glory days of the provincial capital when it was refered to as ‘Little Paris’.

As part of the restoration, beautification efforts are underway, with repair of roads and street lights, and plantation.

The ancient railway station of Quetta, established in 1887, is being reconstructed for the first time since the 1935 earthquake.

Old engines have been installed at the station to pique the curiosity of visitors.

The uplift has already earned praisae for the local administration as well as the railway department that is part of the project.
