Stage actor and comedian Tariq Teddy passed away at the age of 46 on Saturday after a prolonged illness.
The development was confirmed by Junaid Tariq ¬ son of the late comedian – saying that his father was suffering from pulmonary and liver-related illness. His funeral prayers will be held in Lahore later in the day.
Tariq was admitted to Pakistan Kidney & Liver Institute and Research Centre for the last 10 days, where he was kept in the intensive care unit.
His death triggered an outpouring of grief from the stage artist community, politicians and others.

Tariq, who got famous in the 90s, entertained Pakistanis with his particular style of comedy. His performances in various stage dramas accumulated audience appreciation for his style.
