Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed on Tuesday that Faisal Vawda had held the press conference at the request of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan, adding that expelling Vawda from his party over his statement regarding blood and funerals in the long march was another drama of the PTI chief.
“The press conference was held at the behest of Imran Niazi and was according to their party’s policy,” the interior minister said addressing a press conference in Islamabad, adding that Vawda’s statement about the blood and funerals in the long march was aimed at scaring the government.
Sanaullah said that it was condemnable that Imran Khan was welcoming martial law.
He said that the PTI chairperson was trying to derail the country from the democratic path. “If this happens, no political party will accept it,” he added.
The interior minister advised PTI to shun its riotous agenda and sit with other political parties for reaching an amicable political solution.
Sanaullah rejected reports of talks with the PTI saying that the government was not engaged in backdoor dialogues with PTI at any platform.
