Day 2 of long march: Imran Khan again highlights Azam Swati’s torture

Former prime minister Imran Khan has demanded of Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial to take action against PTI leader Azam Swati’s custodial torture.

“Our Constitution gives protection to this human dignity,” he said as the party’s long march kicked off from Shahdara on second day of the long march. He was accompanied by other party leaders on the container.

“So, today Mr CJP I am also asking you to take action on this… on which Azam Swati has appealed to you. Take action on this and tell us we are a human society. Justice prevails in human society, not in the animals’ society. This is our right that we get justice,” Imran said.

The PTI chief again called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to start investigating the two officers who purportedly tortured Swati in custody and transfer them.

“We are not a flock of sheep,” he said over the apparent treatment given to PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari, who he claims are corrupt leaders.

He claimed that the above mentioned two leaders were given NRO and fundamental rights were being violated.
