NEPRA cuts power tariff by Rs4.11 per unit for K-Electric consumers

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced a reduction in the power tariff by Rs4.11 per unit for the consumers of K-Electric for the month of July.

According to the notification issued by Nepra, K-Electric had requested a reduction of Rs 3.48 per unit. The authority held a public hearing on fuel charges adjustment (FCA) on August 31, 2022, and has now approved it.

The notification said that the reduction had been made under the fuel adjustment price and would be applied to the bills for the current month.

The reduction in electricity prices will be applied only for one month, said the notification.

The authority said that the reduction in prices would be applicable to all electricity consumers except lifeline consumers. Following the reduction, the consumers will get a relief of Rs7.40 billion.
