The PTI should be ashamed of themselves, Miftah Ismail, the finance minister, said after the alleged audio clip of PTI leaders, Shaukat Tarin, Taimur Jhagra and Mohsin Laghari, was leaked to the media on Monday.
“They are doing such acts,” he said while addressing a press conference on Monday in Islamabad. “This is shameful. Shaukat Tarin and Taimur Jhagra should resign from politics.”
Miftah, who got angry during the press conference, lamented that the former ruling party leaders made such a “statement” at a time when the country was dealing with flood damages and needed an IMF loan to steer the economy out of the crisis.
“Is Bani Gala and Imran Khan bigger than Pakistan,” he said and described Imran Khan as “power hungry” for the seat of the country’s chief executive seat. “I will ask PTI followers to introspect and consider Pakistan’s interest as sacred”.
The finance czar questioned the audacity of PTI leaders, Asad Umar and Taimur Jhagra, to address the press conference after the alleged leaked audio tape. He reiterated that some of his party leaders were wary of taking the government after ousting the PTI chief Imran Khan from the PM seat via a vote of no-confidence.
