Support the flood-hit people of Sindh in this difficult time, Murad Syed, the chief minister of the province, appealed to the masses in a televised address from Sukkur on Wednesday.
“We have sought help from the NDMA and other provinces,” he said, “I would appeal to keep roads open for safe passage of relief goods to the people. We need patience, bravery and strength in this situation.”
The chief minister added that the province received more than 350% above rainfall than normal in July and over 600% of showers above rainfall have been recorded in August so far.
“Everyone lives for themselves. But I appeal to you to live for each other in this difficult situation,” CM Murad said, adding that he has never seen a disaster on such a scale.
