The Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday de-notified member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Kashif Mehmood who was part of the Punjab Assembly after winning from PP-241 constituency of Bahawalnagar after the Supreme Court dismissed his review plea in a fake degree case.

The election watchdog has withdrawn the notification issued on August 7, 2018, over the victory of Kashif Mehmood.

Earlier in November 2021, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court had upheld the order of the Islamabad High Court regarding the disqualification of Mehmood.
