Pakistani-American photographer Sania Khan was shot dead by her ex-husband in Chicago, USA, in a case of murder-suicide.
The police report, cited by the Chicago Tribune, stated that once the law enforcement officers entered the crime scene, they found Sania Khan dead.
Raheel Ahmed, the alleged shooter, had a gunshot wound to the head. The murder weapon was found in his possession along with a suicide note. He was later shifted to Northwestern Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Sania Khan had degrees in psychology and women’s studies, and recently started practising as a psychologist.
Recently, Sania Khan had taken to TikTok to speak about divorce and talked about the hardships she faced as a divorced woman.
On her TikTok account, the victim shared, “As a South Asian woman going through a divorce, it feels like you’ve failed in life, the lack of emotional support you get and someone to be with. The stress of being faced with the words ‘what will people say’?”
Sania Khan shared her feelings and added, “It’s painful to walk away from someone you once loved, but it’s even more painful to love someone who doesn’t care about you.”
