Indian singer of Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag fame, Mika Singh is thoroughly confused and not because he has to make a decision about a project.
He is confused about choosing a life partner. Mika revealed that he rejected at least 100 proposals that his family brought because he hates the tradition of a girl being on display with a tray of tea.
Star Bharat in a bid to make his decision easier decided to set up a ‘swayamvar’, the ancient Indian method of marriage, where originally a woman chooses a man out of a group of suitors.
Mika has to choose one pretty lady out of the 12 that have come from around India to woo him on a reality show, ‘Swayamvar- Mika Di Vohti’.
Mika, 45, has rejected as many as 100 proposals over the years since he does not like women bringing trays with tea to get approved or not approved for marriage. The statement seems ironic since the reality show is very similar to the tea-bringing scenario on steroids.
The singer did not marry earlier because he wanted to achieve certain milestones in his career before he tied the knot.
Even though Mika seems very excited about the possibility of finding a life partner past participants of the reality show have not been so lucky. Rakhi Sawant, Mallika Sherawat and Ratan Rajput did not end up tying the knot after appearing on the show. Only Rahul Mahajan actually married Dimpy Ganguly after meeting her on the show but the marriage only lasted three years before it hit rock bottom and the two parted ways.
Mika is still hopeful and thinks nowadays people think differently and do not like flogging a dead horse, rather relationships. If people do not get along, they part ways now instead of being with a partner that does not fulfil their needs, said Mika.
So what is the 45-year-old looking for in a bride? She should know how to cook and should understand Mika’s work enough to be able to manage it.
