A kid in Karachi may set a new world record for the longest ears. No, we don’t mean a child, we mean a baby goat as they are also called kids.
The ten-day-old goat called Simba, meaning lion in Swahili, was born with extra-long ears, measuring 48 centimetres.
The goat’s owner, Muhammad Hassan Narejo, is very excited about his animal and Simba is slowly becoming a celebrity in Pakistan.
Although dogs with the longest ears have made it into the Guinness Book of World records, there are no goats with the same honour. Perhaps Simba will be the first goat to be registered in the books for its ears.
Goats generally tend to have long ears with the Nubian breed having the longest ones but Simba is not a Nubian goat. Its long ears are perhaps the result of a mutation or genetic disorder.
