LAHORE: Over 500 security personnel were deployed at the Punjab Assembly on Monday ahead of the budget session that is expected to be tumultous, Aaj News reported on Monday.
“We will not allow anyone to disturb the law and order situation,” said Lahore police chief Bilal Saddique Kamyana.
More than 500 officials, including a superintendent of police, two DSPs and seven station house officers (SHO) have been deployed.
All persons will be checked. Any unauthorized person or vehicle would not be allowed. Only the members of the assembly will be permitted to enter, said the capital city police officer.
The police have placed barriers on Mall Road, Faisal Chowk and Cooper Road in front of the main gate of the Punjab Assembly.
