GHOTKI: At least five people died and more than 20 were injured when the Karachi-bound passenger coach overturned after the driver fell asleep at the wheel at the Ghotki motorway.
Three out of the five deceased were identified as Zulfiqar Ali, Sadiq Masih, and Zeeshan Masih, the emergency department of Ghotki’s Tehsil Hospital told Aaj News.
Initially, some of the injured persons were identified as Abid Ali, Fareed Ahmed, Nadeem Ahmed, Shah Baksh, Shah Zain, Qaiser Ali, Muhammad Raza, Nayab Bibi, and Saeed Anjum.
Eight of the injured were shifted to hospitals in Rahim Yar Khan and Sukkur. Both the cities are near Ghotki, which is the last district of Sindh.
The Motorway police have reached the site of the accident.
