KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday said that the ouster of PTI government was a democratic process and a democratic conspiracy against Imran Khan was hatched in Bilawal house, not at the White House.
Addressing a rally in Karachi, the PPP chairperson said his party never accepted that ‘selected’government of Imran Khan, adding that he “wanted every institution to turn into PTI’s tiger force”.
The foreign minister said ‘selected’ Imran Khan did not want elections but wanted ‘selection’ again.
Terming Imran Khan’s removal from power to be a victory for the whole country, Bilawal said democracy had won as the “puppet” government of Imran Khan had been sent home.
“Whenever jiyalas come out and take on the dictator of the time they are always successful,” the PPP chairman said.
Bilawal said that Imran Khan assumed power but he failed to deliver on a single promise he made. “He promised five million homes and 10 million jobs, he promised to eliminate corruption in 90 days. But he destroyed homes of poor in the name of encroachment drive and snatched jobs from people.”
Talking about PPP’s contributions for the restoration of democracy he said that Asif Ali Zardari had not backed down from the principles of jail tolerance. He said we stood against the undemocratic person.
This change achieved after three years of struggle is the real change, he added.
