Iranian Interior Minister Ahmed Vahidi, along with his nine-member delegation, on Monday arrived in Pakistan on a daylong visit, on the special invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Sheikh Rashid.
The development was shared by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid in a tweet. "Received His Excellency Dr Ahmed Vahidi, Interior Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran as he reached #Pakistan on a day visit," it read.
The Iranian minister would hold delegation-level meetings with government officials on matters of mutual interest, it added.
Rashid received the Iranian delegation at the Nur Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi, according to APP. Interior Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar and other senior officials were also present at the airport.
The Iranian interior minister would also call on Prime Minister Imran Khan and would hold a separate meeting with his Pakistani counterpart.
Issues of prisoners swap and the Pakistan-Iran border management would also come under discussion during the talks, as per the statement issued earlier the day.
