Security forces have recovered a huge cache of weapons an intelligence-based operation in the Sarwakai area of South Waziristan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement on Sunday.
According to the armed forces media wing's official handout, the forces conducted the IBO on the reported presence of terrorists in the area.
The weapons and ammunition recovered from the hideout include submachine guns, RPG-7, hand grenades, IED making equipment, and a large quantity of ammunition of multiple calibres, it read.
Earlier this month, the security forces had conducted an operation in Miranshah, North Waziristan in which one terrorist was killed while two others were apprehended.
"Weapons and ammunition [were] also recovered from [the] terrorists," the ISPR had said.
According to Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid's Saturday presser, 31 per cent increase have been witnessed in terrorist activities over the last three months and the law enforcement agencies were all alert to avert any untoward situation.
