Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is known for performing her own stunts in films without any help from body doubles. She’s all geared up to do the same in her upcoming action film Pathan, reported Indian entertainment news outlet Bollywood Hungama.
Pathan is directed by Sidhdharth Anand, and stars Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan alongside Padukone.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Padukone is very athletic. In her 2009 film Chandni Chowk To China, the actress performed some martial arts moves with co-star Akshay Kumar. Some stunts that were considered “too dangerous” were done with wirings to keep her safe.
Director of Chandni Chowk To China had said, “There were some scenes that we thought to be too dangerous. But she insisted on doing away with the body double and also the wirings. She's very athletic, it runs in her family. Then there was Akshay Kumar to inspire her. Akshay had done so much on-screen action. It was a novel experience for Deepika. And she sailed through the action. She worked really hard to get the posture and power in the action scenes.”
After the Nikhil Advani film, she showcased her athleticism in the Rajnikanth release Kochadaiyaan. Choreographed by Peter Hein, an award-winning Indian stunt cheographer, Padukone performed a 10-minute-long stunt sequence which left viewers stunned.
She will now be plunging into her own stunts in Pathan, in which SRK would also be doing some risky moves.
According to News18, SRK will be playing a RAW agent named Feroz Pathan, and will be joined by actor John Ibrahim. The
