Legendary Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital after testing positive on Tuesday for Covid-19, according to ANI.

ANI shared the development in a series of tweets. Mangeshkar’s niece Rachna told ANI that her aunt had mild symptoms.

“She is doing fine; has been kept in ICU only for precautionary reasons considering her age. Please respect our privacy and keep Didi in your prayers,” she added.

Mangeshkar, 92, is one of the most respected playback singers in India. She has recorded songs in over a thousand Hindi films and has sung songs in many languages.

As soon as the story broke out, singers and netizens turned to social media to wish her a speedy recovery.

Actor Tasneem Ali also prayed for a speedy recovery.
