Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar couldn't have expected people would respond to her testing positive for Covid on Jan 5 with messsages hoping she die. However the actor's timeline was flooded with abuse from trolls who hoped the disease would take her life.
Not one to shy away from critics, Bhaskar shared a tweet on Friday directly addressing the trolls: If something were to happen to me, your livelihood will be impacted. How will you run your house?”
Much of the nastiness seemed to be directed at her for not blaming Modi for her illness. Another said "RIP in advance" while another hater said her diagnosis was the "best news of the new year so far."
She did however also receive a lot of support for the clapback as well as wishes for a speedy recovery.
This isn't the only time the Veere di Wedding co-star has been trolled.
In August, she tweeted when the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and was attacked for being a Taliban apologist.
She is a fierce opponent of crimes against Muslims in India and often tweets articles, posts about the discrimination against them.
In 2019 she tweeted an apology to Muslims and other minorities for the hardship they have to endure.
