The US forensic audit company, Primeau Forensics confirmed on Wednesday that it had reviewed the audio of former chief justice forwarded to them by a local television channel but refused to share the details of its findings.
Speaking to Dawn, a PF representative said they examined the audio for their client ARY News and only the client in question could share details of the report.
The confirmation comes after a ARY News report released the findings from the forensic audit of a leaked audio clip featuring former chief justice Saqib Nisar. Nisar can be heard talking about Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif, as well as about the independence of the judiciary.
According to ARY, even though Nisar was featured on the leaked audio clip, it was edited and made up of various audio files.
During the 45 second file, Nisar’s voice becomes clearer during the last 20 seconds. PF says the first 25 seconds and the last 20 seconds were both recorded in different environments.
It is also reported that ARY News paid around Rs 1 million for the forensic audit.
