An audio recording of a telephone conversation between TikToker Ayesha Akram and her friend Rambo surfaced on Monday in the on-going Minar-e-Pakistan assault case, according to a Geo report.
The report says the two were planning to take money from all the suspects who had been arrested in the case.
The recording was found in Rambo's mobile phone who was in police custody after Akram alleged he planned and instigated the event at Lahore's Greater Iqbal Park on Independence Day.
Videos of hundreds of men assaulting Akram went viral and shocked the nation as no one came to help the woman during her two-hour ordeal.
Eight other suspects, including Rambo and another friend of Akram's, were taken into custody on Friday after the TikToker mentioned names of the men she held responsible for the incident.
Currently Rambo is on four-day physical remand.
According to the Geo report, Deputy Inspector General Shariq Jamal Khan said that the phone call recording has been made a part of the case.
Akram and Rambo, in the telephone conversation, discussed the amount of money they could get from each imprisoned suspect. They discussed that most of them belonged to low income group and they could hardly pay Rs550,000.
After his appearance in court, Rambo said he tried to save Akram's life that day in the park, adding one shouldn't help anyone.
He noted that Akram wanted to take Rs500,000 from each arrested suspect. Rambo maintained that he tried to convince his friend otherwise but she threatened to get him arrested if he didn't support her.
In a video message issued two days ago, Akram pleaded to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to take action against people who were issuing life threats to her for objectionable videos.
She maintained that before the incident happened she had no idea about it. And those who involved in blackmailing her should be punished.
