Pakistan recorded 79 more deaths of Covid in the last 24 hours, according to the National Command and Operation Centre data.
Out of the 64,053 tests conducted on Friday, 3,980 people tested positive for the virus.
The Covid positivity rate was 6.21 per cent on Friday.
Meanwhile, the prime minister approved Covid curbs in 24 districts of the country due to the coronavirus' deteriorating situation, reported Aaj News
The Islamabad’s private and public educational institutions will remain closed from September 6 to 11 and the indoor and outdoor gatherings will be banned in the federal capital.
The inter-city transport will also be banned in the affected districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
However, the association of private schools rejected the government’s decision, saying the closure of schools would not be accepted as the staff of 65 per cent schools has been fully vaccinated.
